Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Advent Sunday

It's started - Our time of waiting and anticipation..... and daily chocolate!
I'm going to do my usual daily foodbank contribution as a reverse Advent Calendar, ie I'll put something into a box for every day of Advent and donate it at the end.
Church this morning and the D'mains lights committee have done an amazing job at the church. The grounds are immaculate and were it not for the mud, you'd never know over 3000 people were there yesterday.
I was on intercessions duty today and as a result of writing them well into the evening yesterday when I was tired, they were a bit long winded. Having said that they did compliment the sermon at least. Our 16 year old assistant organist was playing today, we're very lucky to have him.
We decided to go out to Mannerstons for lunch after church. I had my favourite black pudding and roasted goats cheese salad and as usual thoroughly enjoyed it.
Did very little once we got home but we did remember to light the Advent candle and to burn it down the correct amount. Here you see it next to my very pleasing Alessi candle snuffer.
