Partying with the neighbours

Mr hazelh and I managed to sneak out for an hour or so early this evening to join our new neighbours and their friends at their (almost) Christmas drinks party. This is the first time that we have been inside their house. We had to admit to our hosts, however, that we were already somewhat familiar with their accommodation. This is from looking at the sale particulars online earlier in the year. We enjoyed seeing the house 'in the flesh', confirming that it really as stylish as marketed in the online brochure. The fireplace in the main living space (blipped) is bang in the middle of the room.

Saturday is currently my day off exercise. I made the most of my time at home today to start writing our Christmas cards. Mr hazelh and I also finished proof-reading our Christmas newsletter. It's now ready to print, but we fear that our printer is not up to the job.

In the background today, discussions with my sisters of arrangements for Mummy hazelh's care in the immediate, mid and long term have continued. I also dealt with some more auction admin today. For the first time in this process, I experienced a strong emotional response when looking at details of our items in the auctioneer's online catalogue. It was a selection of my father's fishing bags that set me off.

Exercise today: none (rest day).
