Advent calendars

We have two advent calendars this year. One was hand-delivered by a local friend. The other came all the way from Finland.

I have developed a new form of insomnia. Rather than being unable to get to sleep when I switch off the lights, I now drop off easily but wake at 4:00am. It's very annoying. This morning I decided that I might as well take advantage of an extra couple of hours before breakfast to empty the dishwasher, put on two loads of washing, and work my way through some online admin.

Mummy hazelh is going to Holy Island with my not-so-little sister tomorrow so I spent much of this afternoon organising her packing. (This is one of the reasons for dealing with laundry on a Sunday.) I also wrote a few more Christmas cards. I have reached the end of the list for those going to addresses in the UK.

I'm not sure how long I will stay awake this evening after my 4:00am start...
