Show dog

Bean spotted a female Paradise Shelduck while she was having a paddle during our warm walk this morning. I love the show dog stance she assumed amongst the weed and water.

I had a busy remainder of the morning, sorting out the watering schedule for the growing season, finishing off yesterday's line-trimming, plus some more. There is still heaps of long grass to tackle though...

Then after lunch we headed off into town where Bean had a long snooze in the back of the car, while I enjoyed the latest performance by the local musical theatre group. I had friends, and my GP, in the cast. What a hoot. It was thoroughly entertaining and a great way to spend a relaxed afternoon.

We met up afterwards for a cool beer in the sun in Oamaru's Victorian  Precinct. See the extra. A lovely end to the day.

It has been the hottest day of summer so far. It is also the first day of summer of course...
