Living my dream

Whoosh

It has been one of those days which has whizzed past.

I looked at the clock at 4pm and was brought up short, wondering how it had got to be that time. I was expecting it to be around 2 o'clock. I am usually quite accurate with my estimation of how far we are into the day.

As a result of this whoosh of time I have failed to get onto several tasks, and others - like the line trimming of the rose terrace outside the study - aren't finished.

The line trimmer battery lasts about 40 minutes, then takes the same length of time to charge, so it is always a stop-start process. It irritates me, but at the same time the enforced breaks save my back.

I did manage to completely empty, de-ice, clean and repack the three freezers, which probably accounts for a fair bit of the lost time. It was the perfect day for it: warm enough to make the de-icing a breeze, and early enough in the season that the freezers aren't too full. It's not a particularly pleasant job, but one which gives me great satisfaction once it's done.

I also made a Wensleydale cheese, and Ricotta with the whey.

And of course Bean and I slipped a (long) walk into the day.
