Silly Cats
The weather was cold and sunny this morning and the a lot of the Farmers' Market vendors were either taking a break after Thanksgiving and gearing up for Christmas. Or, in the case of a lot of the fruit vendors, just about at the end of their season. I imagine that the number of craft vendors will pick up, but we enjoyed the pottery table where I bought a few of these charming cats (about the size of a small saucer). As we were about to leave, John pointed out an even smaller little plaque which cracked me up. I have edited it so that I hope it meets Blipfoto standards and doesn't offend anybody, and you don't have to look at it as I've put it in extras...but I'll bet you can't resist....
They were actually doing quite a a brisk business, it comes in several colors. What was really funny was how many little old ladies , like myself, bought one or two after some discussion, and the woman behind the table said, 'everyone always has somebody they think of to give it to!'
We drove home with Jim and Dana discussing my relationship with my oven (tenuous) the size of our respective celery plants (ours is huge) and the best style of tennis shoes which is all most of us wear anymore. I have to put a heel lift in my shoe because there has been a 3/4" change between my leg lengths since my knee replacement. I'm considering a pink pair with an orange line around them.
Tomorrow will be the official start of the holiday season. Or at least what I consider to be an acceptable time to begin thinking about it. I think my theme is going to be 'simple and natural' this year. The lime green house that I can see through the window as I write now has it's eaves lined with lights and a lovely warm glow emanating through the three lighted windows....
