K’s cottage garden
I spend a couple of hours a week in K’s garden, and I have done so for over five years now.
It is a delightful cottage-type garden which was planted and tended with great skill by the previous owners for several decades.
I don’t have anything like their knowledge and ability, and most of my contribution has been to keep the weeds at bay and to cut back rampant plants. But I have learnt the garden over the years, and I have felt confident enough to suggest a few wee changes here and there.
And K has added various pieces of inspired, humorous and / or dramatic art pieces.
This spring-summer it is looking it’s very best. Both K and I stood and gazed with utter delight this morning at the blooming flowers, the wonderful shapes and textures of the whole place.
Sadly the sun didn’t shine for my photos (several more in extras) but I wanted to record it at its best: some things will have changed by the time I’m next there.
It’s a joy to spend time there. What a lucky girl I am.
