Good-bye Janey

I wasn't the only blipper standing in the Royal Mile saying good-bye to Janey Godley, both Lady Findhorn and Meles were there but we didn't see each other. I think we gave her a good send off.  She definitely cheered us all up during Covid. I stood right in front of the Choir who sang 'Amazing Grace' and then Elbow's hit 'One Day Like This' with the crowd singing along. I think the hearse was accompanied by her friend who appeared in the film Janey that I went to see at the Queens' Hall earlier this year - I am so glad I did.  Her funeral is tomorrow in Glasgow while St Giles will see Alex Salmond's memorial service at the same time.

Earlier today I had swum and worked and made soup and taken a very slow bus into town.  Later I went to the Portrait Gallery to see the photography exhibition - Amelia's godmother, Arpita Shah, has a portrait on display - then to the National Gallery to buy some bits and pieces to take to KL.  I sat outside with a Contini coffee and a fine piece.  Nice views of the Christmas lights and rides.

It was another very slow, busy bus home and tonight I will be relaxing and making lists.  It is that time in my preparation  schedule.
