Socks

The 'Abstract Thursday' theme is 'Gratitude' to tie in with the Thanksgiving celebrations in the USA.  In the UK, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving although we do seem to have picked up Black Friday, that great excuse for retailers to get rid of old stock that they discount against the recommended retail price even though they've never charged it (I read a survey of 'Black Friday' prices today that showed that even some of our most respected retailers were selling 'bargains' that were actually costing more than the normal sale price!).  Anyway, what I am grateful for is that my supermarket sells good quality socks from its sister department store, which means I don't have to go into Norwich to replace the ones I've put my toe through.
