Path blocked
Lovely crisp sunny day. I walked the dog up into the woods first thing and the sun pierced the now leafless trees. The chestnut pollarding seems to have been completed but I didn’t walk that way, partly because Woody knew he’d get breakfast back at home so shot back down the shorter route.
So we went out again at lunchtime, walking down a path that can get muddy but that was so thickly covered in autumn leaves that it was like walking on a carpet. But when we turned off up what I call Holly Walk it was totally blocked by this fallen tree. I think looking at the roots this one was long dead, it’s probably ash as despite my name a lot of ash trees overhang this lane, making it a place to avoid in windy weather. So we turned back and I note I didn’t make my steps yesterday. Thanks Bert.
Office day and I got a lot of emails and reading done and sent out a script we’ve been working on for some time.
We had new lights put in the kitchen as the others were old and constantly flickering. It’s a bit bright.
We had dinner at the Shoe with the woman whose family I rescued when they got a puncture the morning they arrived in England to visit her. They gave us vouchers and we invited her. It was quite an intense evening as she was still mourning her husband.
