Group outing
B and I have birthday’s 10 days apart so we often pick a day in the middle to jointly celebrate. Sod’s law it was a RBS day so I drove to Guildford and then caught the train from there. I found the three stages of the journey oddly soothing, a short drive, a short train, a quick tube. Like being in a child’s travel story.
Rory joined us and we had a delicious lunch and gave presents. B gave me some canned cocktails from his friend’s superb and increasingly famous bar cafe in Margate. He’s called his enterprise Manhattan’s Project and I hope it’s a success. I intend to support him!
Lovely hanging out and playing, Leo is talking well and Ivy seems encouraged by him to go much further. Her favourite song is Happy Birthday which she sings at the drop of a hat.
After lunch with the kids rampaging we decided to go on an outing to the Turning Earth pottery fair. ‘Just one stop’ to the badlands of Lea Bridge. But train delays lost us Rory who went home. It was all in a little ‘creative’ industrial estate and the pottery was generally not very good. C met a friend who’d jumped out of the consultancy they worked in to pot for a bit and bought some little jars to support him. I bought a biscuit plate …for when you give someone a cup of tea and a biscuit I presume. Quite plane but a nice colour.
I went home from there arriving back around 7.30. Another grand day out.
