Smile
Technically a picture from last night but, because today has been all about going to the dentist, I thought a reminder of something happy would help take the edge off the trauma!
Didn’t really know what to expect from Milton Jones, apart from what I’d seen of him on the show Mock the Week. And it turned out that his stand up show was just an extended version of that. Very stream of consciousness, with lots of quick fire gags, all seemingly unconnected, but then looping back to one of his original comments. I don’t think it was an entirely new show as I had definitely heard some of the routines before. Still very funny though, and a pleasant way to pass the evening.
Unlike today’s trip to the dentist, where I knew exactly what to expect, there was definitely no laughing and it was in no way a peasant way of passing the time. After the torture of the hygienist, the dentist added to the misery by informing me that I needed a crown and an extraction. Sooner rather than later! We agreed to go for the crown in February (after Panto is done and dusted) and then see about the extraction if I survive.
When I arrived at the dentist, I was greeted with the good news that I had £30 to my credit - did I want it refunded as I’m now in a plan that covers checkups and hygienist appointments? No, carry it forward I said, I’m sure it’ll get used up in due course. An hour later and I was presented with an estimate for the work to be done in February amounting to £1250. And could I pay a deposit of £180 please?
Well, that didn’t take long to go from a surplus of £30 to a deficit of £150 did it?
