Many iterations of public transport

It's my view that Leith Walk has improved a great deal since the tram was introduced. The lengthy roadworks meant a lot of traffic finds its way north and east by other means. Easter Road is probably worse. I know that Bonnington Road is. But the Walk is much less polluted than it once was.

I'd just got off a brand new 74 reg all electric 10 bus, and was due to get on a slightly less new 21 reg diesel 49 bus. The only criticism I would have of the layout of the new number 10s is that the seats for less mobile passengers at the front have very restricted leg room. Are all people who are less mobile also short or at least short-legged? I recall needing to use those seats particularly when I had recently had my knee operations, and I couldn't have bent my leg to get into such a restricted space at that time.

It was a Monday at work. It was fine. I used the bus because of the wind and rain this morning, although mainly the wind. It had subsided by this evening, so I had a pleasant journey home at the end of the day. I managed a short peloton ride, after Mr A had gorn norf. Neither of us had a pleasant morning, as the building alarm went off at 5.53am. So I've been up since then. I headed outside, but left Mr A behind. It was nothing - a sensor in block 23 went off, apparently. Over-sensitive flower, I guess. The fire brigade came mob handed and turned it off. When I went back upstairs, Mr A announced that he'd used the time to have a shave. At least that way, if he was going to be carried out, he would have been clean shaven and more respectable.

Some news came through at the end of the day that will shape my life quite a bit for the next 4.5 years. It'll certainly keep me busy. I don't think I can make it public yet. My Head of School colleagues gave me a mini bottle of fizz for my birthday in September and it's been in the fridge ever since. I was wondering about opening it this evening to sip as I packed my bags for tomorrow.
