I haven't always . . .

. . . done jigsaws.

As I was putting a few pieces into this jigsaw I was wondering just how long ago it was that I started doing puzzles. Of course Blip came to my aid and I found the day seven years ago that I discovered the wonderland that is Barneys Newsbox in Grasmere and the day I completed my first jigsaw. Before that I had had no interest in them at all. My mother loved to do them and I bought them for her, but I never had the urge to try.

Until Blip came along . . . and I watched people like Jeanne and Wendy as they blipped puzzles they were doing. Now I love to have one on the go all the time and I get a lot of satisfaction from working on them.

Recently I realised that I had accumulated far too many so I am now getting them out one by one and deciding, as I complete them, which are the ones I like and will keep, and which ones I shall give away.

This one is to keep. It’s a rather twee picture but it has just the right mix of challenge and interest - there are no huge areas of one colour, nor are there dark areas which are so frustrating and it has nice details to be discovered.
