Rubbing down

Another day of heavy showers. I found a hedgehog at the bottom of the garden. It had drowned. 

One of my wet weather activities is renovating some of the old furniture that we have inherited. Today I've started on the ambitious task of hand sanding an oak gate leg dining table. I'm removing the dark old Victorian varnish and will, eventually, paint it in a light colour that better suits our house interior. Its a long slow process. Each leg takes the best part of an hour to complete and there are eight legs.
