Visiting
I don't normally post a photo of one of the residents in the Aged Care facilities that Maggy and I go to but I asked Iris if it was alright and she gave me her consent. She is an amazing woman. Four children and I can't remember how many countless grandchildren and great grandchildren she has. I think there may even be a great great grandchild. I should have checked with her. She was a bit down today. A few weeks ago she fell and fractured her wrist. That is it, the right one in a cast. She has kept mainly to her room since then and said sadly to me that she wasn't sure she would make 104. Yes, 104 she will be in January. I assured her that she would definitely make it and I would be looking forward to the party. The framed item to the right of her head on the wall is all the various congratulations she has got over the years from Queen Elizabeth and now King Charles and Camilla.
So what is it about this that I cherish. I cherish being privileged to spend time with these people, hear their stories and share a bit of Maggy love. To be welcomed with 'You've made my day', and 'I've been waiting for you to come'.
The lifestyle coordinator has gone the full Monty with the decorations at reception all ready for Santa photos. Residents can have a Christmas photo with Maggy if they like in a fortnight when we return here. I have put the test one of Maggy and me up in the extra. Don't look too closely, it a shocker one of me.
