And back to Autumn again…
….looking out the window I could see England on the horizon, and it was clearly a better morning than predicted by the weather druids.
Before I really did anything, I sheepishly phoned the pub and ‘fessed that we left without paying our food bill last night. I blame Nancy and she blames me. Fortunately, they were ok about it and have ripped-up the Wanted posters.
We’ve visitors this week so some dusting and hoovering was conducted before we headed out to enjoy the better than expected weather. Shame really, I had penciled-in a cycle but cancelled it based on the forecast.
However, we enjoyed a smashing walk around Harestanes and Woodside on the Monteviot Estate. We popped into the Buy Design store to look at some pottery stuff and chatted to Eion. He’s an interesting guy who’s been heavily involved in land reform/community right to buy in Scotland in his time. He said it all started locally in the 70s when he and a few others had a go at forcing community purchase in the middle of ‘feudal Scotland’. That made me laugh…we also know a few people in common across Scotland, and it was just a lovely chat.
Home to read a book about Roman Scotland and then roast a chook for tea.
