Christmas comes early

Storm Bert meant that we couldn't go down from Dalkeith (where we were staying with Cailean & Georgie) to have lunch with Jamie and Rachel in Peebles.

But as it  started to clear through late in the afternoon  we braved the slippy slush to go to the shops at Straiton, where amongst other things Christmas trees were sitting in the snow - and being sold.

Indeed we saw a couple up and illuminated in  houses driving back.
