Early Birthday

Bert came to play! The wind blew and the rain fell hard, so we were glad of no where to be until lunchtime and had a lazy morning.

The Youngest and I did finally spend some time getting her brine shrimp hatchery (extra) up and running though, which was good fun. I’ve no idea if the thing will actually work, mind…….

We met up at The Station Inn in Oxenholme with the family for my sister’s 40th birthday lunch, which was also good fun - apart from a short spell where the wee ones combined to treat my noggin as a drum machine (extra). M’sis is big into crafting and making well, pretty much anything really, and seemed pleased with the apron and Christmas wreath making course I’d treated her to.

Lunch was delicious and then we all decamped back to the parents for some lying around, tea and incredibly sweet birthday cake. The remainder of the house was given over to the children to run riot and create their own pretend cafe of which we were all guests.

Very lovely and chilled day.
