Surrounded
Exceptionally icy start to the day as I slipped and slid my way out to the car, which due to the wonders of modern technology was already warming and de-icing itself for me, having been requested to do so at the push of a button.
Once on to the main roads, it was fine and I was on my down to Leigh to meet with the team for a Christmas working lunch (turkey and pigs in blankets baps accompanied by chips) and to enjoy our final meeting together before the departures begin.
It was bittersweet. We’re a tight-knit bunch who all get on, but as we all know life moves on and for one reason or another change is inevitable.
There was a couple of moments to sting the eyes before we sat down to lunch and talked nonsense for a little while. I thought we should at least have one photo of us all together before we all go our separate ways.
It was nice to get home and be greeted by the wee ones (even if The Youngest was blocking my way and demanding a hug oblivious of the fact that my hands were full with heavy items). The fires were lit and we had a little catch up before our friends arrived for a lovely evening of pizzas and play.
Feeling very content at present and grateful for being in the fortunate position of finding myself surrounded by brilliant people at every turn.
