'Seja Bemvindo, Papa Francisco!'

So the Pope came to Copacabana Beach this evening surrounded by a multitude of the faithful. It was quite an atmosphere waiting for his mobile to pass; at my spot it fairly whizzed past, unlike a little later when it slowed to walking pace. I walked the length of the beach on the sand to within two hundred yards of his stage. To say there was hardly an inch to move is an understatement (DD wouldn't have liked it too much!). But it was fun and the crowd very agreeable. I missed Benedict XVI, but did see John Paul II on The Mound in Edinburgh many years ago. So two out of three's not bad!
