Ice
I am writing this from a wee cottage in Dumfries and Galloway. We had this weekend booked as a walking weekend with my walking friends, Gill, Jane and Karen, for quite a long time, knowing that booking a weekend in November is always a risk due to the weather... The forecast for the weekend is really rubbish but we decided to go anyway and even if we can't walk, we'll have a good weekend with friends. Jane surprised us last week by announcing that she and her partner of 42 years had got married! Nobody knew about it, not even their children. The witnesses learnt about it on the day. So, we had to celebrate this together..
Anyway, I walked Django, in the morning in cold but beautiful weather, then packed and set off in the early.afternoon. Google map gave me two and a half hours... Yeah right!! That would have been okay in normal weather but given the conditions, I should really have used the bigger road rather than the shorter one. The too wax really icy and slippery, it was snowing heavily and I felt the car sliding a couple of times. I was so relieved to finally get there four hours later!! The evening was lovely thought...
