Precipitation
Yesterday's rain turned to snow overnight but because the ground temps are still quite warm, the snow didn't stick. It left some slushy patches around which are best avoided because they are very slippery, but at least no snow removal activities were needed. The snow eventually turned to freezing rain/sleet which still provided some interesting photos. I put my hide up for the first time this season and sat in it snapping pics until I got too cold. This image was picked purely because I always like it when I can manage to get a bird's tongue in the shot. Woodpeckers have especially long tongues with barbed growths that help them to slurp up larva and other tasty things in the trees (or ants from the ground).
I had a zoom yoga class this morning which was, as always, just what my body needed. Unfortunately, Jax had a rare episode of gassiness and he insisted on being in my yoga room the entire time. Although he was gassy as a puppy, he isn't prone to gas as an adult - except for today. It was pretty dreadful. Made worse by the fact that he always wants to be near me. Oh well.
Fire place is blazing, and it is so toasty and warm in the living room that I think I am just going to stay here for most of the afternoon. Jax is curled up with his head on my lap (and happily not exiting any noxious fumes) and it's possible a nap could break out...
