Not Singapore
It wasn’t to be. Mr C decided his back wouldn’t manage a 13 hour flight and he was still wobbly with the reaction to the codeine, so we cancelled. Though very disappointed - I was last in Singapore 56 years ago so was really looking forward to it, and the adventure of Malaysia were we’d not been - I’m relieved really as I’d have just been too anxious for him all the time.
Now we just have the hassle of claiming on insurance. I hope mine will accept he is so incapacitated he needs a carer.
I had to get myself off out for a 5.5 mile walk up on the moor for my head to deal with it all. It was another cold but sunny day. The frost hasn’t lifted. The blip is Cheviot on the Scottish border and Hedgehope on its right taken from the moor.
I got back to find Mr C had decided to try the Valium with paracetamol. I hope his stomach copes with that combo.
So in need of comfort food I made myself a second breakfast when I got back. You’ll be shocked to hear I had a fried egg and 2 slices of Stornaway black pudding. (It’s not meat, it’s just blood I tell myself).
Now I have 2 weeks of empty diary. I fancied going to the Boiler Shop for Sheku and Isata Kanneh-Mason but it’s standing only. I’m not sure MY back could cope.
I’m going to spoil myself and have a relaxing decadent bath using the lovely scented oil #2 daughter gave me and I’ll finish my book. It’s a quick read and funny - Exit by Belinda Bauer, recommend on a Good Read.
