Two seasons

Autumn turns to winter in this photo of our Victorian cast-iron handpump at the well this morning. The fencing is to stop sheep from falling down the well shaft. I liked the low angled early sunlight catching on the last remaining leaves of the large oak tree. The lying snow has been slowly melting this morning and we expect it to disappear tomorrow when Storm Bert arrives.
