A window to the seasons …..

Having carefully negotiated the icy paths and roads left by overnight snow and hail, we visit G’s mum to discuss her forthcoming care review, and feeling frustrated that she doesn’t wish to have any additional help, we treat ourselves to lunch out. It’s only M&S, but it provides time to breathe and regroup. While we obviously respect her desire to be independent, we really want her to accept measures that will stop her falling and ending up in hospital. Despite the vast sums of money being paid for her care, she is reluctant to ask the staff to do anything for her as ‘they’re so busy’.

Anyway, as we’re out, we take a short drive up the Conwy valley to view the mountains. The heart of Eryri must be looking particularly spectacular, but even the lower peaks of the Carneddau are covered in snow - beautiful in the sunshine that’s now breaking through.  November snowfalls mean that autumn colour still remains in the valley, and the rich green of the valley floor seems positively springlike.

Then it’s back home to complete preparations for our London weekend ……
