The Wave...

Go LARGE to catch the wave :)

After wasting half the day in bed yesterday I was awake at 8am today. Got up at 9. D was already up and sitting on the little patio outside our bedroom reading his book.

After Alan had his lunch we headed off to visit Les Sables d'Olonne, a large seaside town about 25 minutes away. Despite following signs for Centre Ville we get hopelessly lost and ended up in some dodgy housing estate. Not quite what we were after.

After half an hour of driving following gut instinct rather than the sat nav, we finally found the sea front. Managed to get parked beside a very nice café where we had salade chevre chaud with lardons. Delish :)

Walked along the very clean promenade (absolutely no litter of chewing gum) and stopped for a while to sit on the sea wall and eat vanilla and praline ice cream. It was fab especially in the 28 degree heat.

Being on a crowded beach on a hot day is my idea of hell but I did have fun people watching those who do enjoy it. So many interactions taking place

Back at the holiday house and have just drank a G&T after forgetting I'd taken some strong painkillers earlier (knee really playing up today) that you're not supposed to have alcohol with.

Hmmmm......could be in for an interesting night...
