El Vino

I was back in London this afternoon for a meeting at the Rolls Building and, on the way back to Waterloo, I took the opportunity to take a photo of the legendary El Vino wine bar in Fleet Street. This used to be filled with journalists during the heyday of Fleet Street when it was where most of the national newspaper titles were located. That all changed when the print workers, who used to set up the typeface and print blocks, were put out of business by automation and digital working, and the newspaper offices moved to new locations in London. I didn't have time to look in for a glass of wine but have sampled the El Vino ambience in the past.
