Fading autumn
Out for a walk today; the autumn colours are far less spectacular than usual. Drought, rain, and wind have had their way with the leaves.
It was a murky day. I went to the market in the morning; it was near deserted. A lot of stall holders had decided not to come, including the lady who sells excellent apples, which was disappointing. Most people's hens had evidently decided to stop laying, though I did get some eggs eventually. And customers were thin on the ground; I didn't meet anyone I know. So it was a quick visit.
S had been at the hospital with his mum all day, waiting for her to be discharged. They eventually made it to the care home in the afternoon and got her settled. She's very confused and rambling though. Hopefully she will be so exhausted that she will sleep well. In other news, it's removal day: R and H spent most of the day driving up from Kent and are now installed in their house along with their belongings. I imagine everyone is in need of a rest now!
I found a new book logging website which could potentially replace Goodreads. It's not just that GR is owned by Amazon, it seems to be getting increasingly flaky and annoying. Anyway, the good news is that Storygraph will import all your Goodreads data, so I'm giving it a whirl.
