Life is a Challenge!

TINY TUESDAY

Now look, I have already done my challenge for this week and been “on theme” so surely you don’t expect me to do the same today?

As I was making my coffee this morning - and it wasn’t that early because I decided to languish in bed for a while, reading the newspaper online on my iPad - I noticed that one of my orchids was blooming rather well.  What’s not to like in one of these amazing flowers - so of course, I took several shots and thought it would make a good Blip for Tiny Tuesday.

Just now, I decided to look at the theme, which is “Complicated” and maybe I am not really that far off, because looking at a beautiful flower like this, and according to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, the definition of the word is “consisting of parts intricately combined”.  Perhaps I won’t be marked down after all and I will be considered "on theme" twice in a week - is that a record, I ask myself?!

So here is my offering for Tiny Tuesday - my beautiful pink orchid in all its glory, and which sits on my kitchen window and brings me great delight every time I look at it.

I have put in an extra because we have been watching the snow falling since early morning - in fact, I did get out of bed, just to look out of the window when Mr. HCB told me just before 8 o’clock that it was snowing.  He loves the snow, not that we had planned to go out in it, but just to watch it falling is so mesmerising - and we both thought of that word!

Since about midday it has been falling and settling, so the extra shows two different parts of the garden and the grass, where you can see how much it has settled.  We both agree that it will be a long winter if we have weather like this, starting before the end of November - and I wonder if our utility company knows that because we had an email this morning to say our Direct Debit will be going up by £20 a month starting in December.  I guess we will have to pay it, even though we are well in credit at the moment, and Mr. HCB says he is determined we won’t be cold.  Hopefully by the Spring, we will see our credit balance going back up again.  Our lovely neighbour, Lynn, knocked on our door to make sure we were all right and asked whether we needed anything at the shop, as they were going out to do some shopping.  We only need milk, but can manage until tomorrow, but she was emphatic that we let her know rathe than going out ourselves.  Good neighbours are worth their weight in gold!

It’s not all doom and gloom though, because I have tidied the worktops in the kitchen and am about to sort out my receipts that have accumulated over the last few weeks, so that will keep me busy for the afternoon and then it will be “under the electric throw” again for the evening.

Stay safe and be careful if you need to go out!  M xx
