Joy

The mahonia in the front garden is a joy to behold, with its bright yellow spiky flower heads! Even on a damp, grey day.

Late morning we went to see a local jazz band at the Almondbury Jazz Festival. I'm sure they were very good, but they were playing in a busy, noisy pub, not the best environment for listening to music.

Afterwards, as we were half way there, we decided to do a small supermarket shop in Huddersfield. However, the C factor is obviously coming in to play! The traffic was dire, the supermarket car park was absolutely packed, and there was a long queue at the petrol station. MrM and I looked at each other - neither of us is an enthusiastic shopper - and we headed back to Holmfirth through the back streets, and did our shopping there in Aldi and Lidl. Much less stressful!
