Lisbon

Lisbon is a fantastically photogenic city. We did the tourist thing today, Forrest, Orla and myself, starting with the gothic elevator and then touring the city by tram. We gave the castle a miss as the queues were horrendous. It was a warm and pleasant day, shorts and T-shirt weather indeed, and it felt like a decent cross-section of the whole world was visiting.

In the afternoon I took a metro out of the centre and enjoyed a 10 mile run back through the astonishing Parque Florestal de Monsanto. Navigation was a little challenging at times, not really knowing where I was going, and the paths never wanting to take me in the direction I wanted, but I got there in the end. It would be a great place for gravel biking and it was surprising not to come across a single cyclist.

An exhausting day on every level. From over a hundred photos taken I chose this one to capture the energy and feel of the city on a Sunday.
