A view from Jeanneb

Peeping through the bracken.

I have said before that I am less fond of walking in summer than other seasons because the paths are overgrown. I particularly dislike walking through bracken.

This morning 6 of us and 4 dogs set off for Marley, through the St Ives Estate and down past the Hall then back along the River Aire through Bingley. We took the route that skirts along the bottom of the woods with views across the Aire Valley to Ilkley Moor, as you can see here. You can also see how, high the bracken was, you could barely see me never mind the bracken.

We did this walk at about the same time last year and took the higher path. I complained then but I don't think it was actually as high as this! Lovely morning to be out though.
