Before the freeze
We've stocked up the bird feeders, in advance of the forecast freezing temperatures. Robins and bluetits were watching with keen eyes for the coast to be clear.
Meanwhile the Destroyer of Fruit (extra) had a keen eye on it all too, in between scratching sessions.
Otherwise... during the morning I made the second of two Christmas cakes (this one gluten-free, as we'll have at least one coeliac visitor over the holiday). Ruth came over for a while, with Eben and Luca. Richard and I kept the boys busy while Ruth got a bit of course work done.
Later I've got a Facetime call arranged with Barbara, our old friend in the US who recently moved from Bloomington (Indiana) to Seattle, to be nearer one of her sons. I know she's feeling anxious and saddened by the election result... and I suspect she'll welcome distractions more than post-mortems.
