Invasion of the teenagers
He may be small... but looks even better in large. ;)
They are off on their own today... yesterday the juniors were all accompanied by a parent and today the kids have been visiting on their own. Apparently, they remember the oranges as an easy source for food. Just about ever 15 minutes, all day long, I've had this little fellow above and this little gal at the oranges. Occasionally an adult will show up, but never with the kids. The young ones are so fun to watch and you know when they are coming... "mew, mew mew"... they sound like loud kittens. I'm thinking that they'd better learn to pipe down if they want to survive the wild. But, for me, the timid call is rather entertaining. They arrive in a nearby tree and take forever to get brave enough to land on the oranges. I think they may be siblings as they have had a few scuffles over who gets the orange on the left... a favorite for some reason.
Another sunny but unseasonably cool day here. My husband is on his way home tonight! :) It's been a long week with him out of town.
