Moment de Plaisir
Last day of cycling. We set off and it was already sunny and hot. This time it was not quite so hilly. We stopped at Cognac for coffee and then had a cold drink as well. According to D's cycle computer is was in the mid 30s.
After Cognac it was easy cycling as we were following the river, this time the River Charente. We had a lovely stop where there were picnic tables and shaded by trees. We walked down to the river where we watched some beautiful blue dragonflies with dark blue, almost black wings.
Cycled on to Saintes, our final destination and where we would be picked up the next evening by the European Bike Express. We booked into the hotel opposite the pick up point to have a last night in comfort. After showers we walked back into the centre of Saintes and had a lovely meal outside and a celebratory glass (or two) of red wine in a busy restaurant. Un moment de Plaisir indeed.
68 km Total for the trip 760 km.
