Today's the day ........................ to catch up
We were out last night at the Theatre Royal in Dumfries (see extra) at a performance entitled Land Lines given by The Border Readers.
It was actually my birthday present to Will, several months ago - so he's had to wait a while for it! But it was worth the wait and very enjoyable, consisting of live readings of short stories with a common theme of 'life in today's countryside' as expressed by some well-known contemporary writers.
The only thing was that the performance clashed with last night's talk at the Kirkcudbright History Society. We wanted to go to that too, because it featured the history of 'Cumstoun House' which is just across the River Dee from us - and which we knew was likely to be an interesting one. Just as well then that the History Society talk was recorded and it has become available today on YouTube. We've just watched it and caught up with what we missed. The above are some of the Maitland Family that have owned Cumstoun House for the past 200 years - and some of the house guests, out for a bike ride.
Ah yes - what would we do without the wonders of modern technology to keep us up to date ..........................?!
