A photo of one of our orange Poinsettias. We have pink ones too, and smaller reds and whites. The Greenhouse is starting to fill up with Christmas flowers, but we mostly have 'normal' kinds for now.
I've had a 'prickly' day... We have as a rule that we don't take personal calls at work, if it isn't important, and then we remove ourselves to take the call in private. This is explained to all new coworkers, and yet, some just don't give a shit. One of our newer coworkers took two private calls in the shop today and I was getting irritated... The bosses were in a meeting and although I could've told her to take her calls somewhere else, I didn't think it was my place to do so. I did 'report' it to the bosses when they came back and they dealt with it at once. It's unfair to the rest of us, and to the customers. I had two missed calls, and I sent a quick text telling the stove repair person that I'll call back in the afternoon. I always have my phone on silent at work.
Me being irritated and unfocused wasn't really good since I was needle felting and yes... I managed to draw blood three times... and had to put plaster on my fingers. It heals quickly, but that needle felting needle isn't playing around with its hooks...
We also had other groups coming to look at our work place and the shop was a beehive for a while, so besides being 'prickly' I got a headache.
After my break I went to go to the toilet and it was occupied, so I waited. The same coworker who talked on the phone stepped out and when I went inside I stepped in water. The floor was filled with water puddles, so the first thing I had to do was to get a mop and clean it up. My prickliness didn't get lower by this... If you wash yourself in the toilet room, which is totally fine with me, you clean up the water when you're done. It's that simple!
I had a talk with my boss about it all, and she told me they had talked about this with coworkers, and will remind them again.
This afternoon I called the repair guy back and he asked me a couple of questions and told me he had to order the part and will be in touch. Then he started ranting about another client... telling me about his irritation with that person, and I thought to myself Why? I don't know this man... but apparently he thought it ok to unload his irritation on me. I just hope he has a better day when he's coming to me, because I have no interest prolonging his visit in my home.
It's been such a strange an ouchy day... I have about 10 little needle felted balls to make tomorrow. Hoping to have a less of a prickly day then.
