New information boards
I had a very busy day so the only photos I took were of the new information boards in the quad about the Talbot Rice Gallery. They've taken over from the boards that were installed to provide information about the El Anatsui hanging which was there in the summer.
When I arrived in the morning there appeared to be a couple of security men hanging around the war memorial at the end (new poppy wreaths since last week obviously) but perhaps they were only detailed to be there until 11am, as they were gone by lunchtime.
A busy schedule of meetings including a dissertation meeting with a final year student who has taken on board the suggestions I made in our first meeting and really run with it. She's really got to grips with her topic and adopted a thorough and rigorous way of making sure she reviews the key cases in her chosen area. Very pleasing to see.
I finished early and headed home to do final preparation for the evening. Mr A had helped out considerably making a salsa and a tortilla which formed the bulk of the starters. I just had to reheat the chilli I cooked yesterday and cook brown rice. And there were roasted plums for afters.
All seemed to go down well and there were such epic quantities of chilli there are several servings in the freezer.
It was lovely to see the book group pals although our numbers were a little reduced by circumstances. We've now got to the point where we are choosing activities for our celebrations of our tenth anniversary in January. Very much looking forward to these as they will brighten up a dark and difficult month. Great research by CW.
And the book I chose by Samantha Harvey - Orbital - was generally admired if not universally liked (the latter because of its tendency to generate a feeling of claustrophobia).
Most clearing up was done in the evening, although the dishwasher will have to go on in the morning again, before I collapsed into bed. Not that many steps but an epic number of zone minutes.
