Sheffield Park

On our way back home from a few days with our friend in Hampshire we called in at Sheffield Park to view the dying embers of autumn colour (and have a coffee)

We did wonder if we were too late. If these were the dying embers then what must it have been like a couple of weeks ago? At least we were at last graced by the sun’s presence today after a prolonged AWOL which earlier visitors would not have had.

It was surprisingly busy. Loads of us “baby boomers” enjoying “leaf peeping” as it is apparently called in North America.

The journey from Sheffield Park to home was awful. A 36 mile trip took 1 hour 40 minutes. Not because of any specific traffic incident just sheer volume, especially when we crossed into Kent. We were, of course, part of the problem…

Time to move on….

Thank you for your comments while we were enjoying our break. There’s never any time to visit journals while away is there?
