A Family Tradition
This morning looked like a normal Sunday for our family. Little Man and I got a lift to church this morning, with our friends who live down the road from us. They have a son who is a little bit younger than Little Man. This meant that I was wedged between two car seats. We had a lovely morning.
After the service, Little Man and I got a lift with Caleb. We decided to go to a nearby garden centre, called Intertuin, where Niké met us. As mentioned by this post's title, we used to go Intertuin with my grandmother (my dad's mum) on a regular basis whenever we came to the Netherlands, especially in the run up to Christmas. Intertuin always have an amazing Christmas display of little houses, which they set up to look like a beautiful story book Christmas village on the side of a mountain. These models can be bought, so you can create your own little Christmas village at home. We got a meal whilst we were there and I was able to buy a pair of lined, plastic clogs, to wear when getting the wood from the garage. All my shoes need lacing up and I don't want to wear my indoor slippers when I need to get wood for the stove. I've added a picture of my new clogs.
We then came home. Little Man snoozed a bit in the car, but thankfully he didn't actually fall asleep. Caleb and Niké didn't stay long as Caleb had a few things to do before he got home. Little Man watched some Fireman Sam and Mighty Express on my laptop, as I prepared dinner for us. We phoned my parents so they could bless Little Man before I took him to bed. He's been sleeping really well at night, which I'm really grateful for. When we don't sleep well, its harder to get through the day.
