Full Circle
Today we visited the stone circle near Lochbuie (close up of a few stones in main Blip & looking back at the whole circle in Extra1). On the walk there we realised it's probably the best part of 20 years since we last visited! There are quite a few standing stones on the island, but this is the only circle (or at least it's the only one I know of). It's a bit boggy getting there and the field it's in was quite waterlogged too, but in wellies it's fine.
The one of the outlying stones (Extra2) is aligned for sunset on the winter solstice and another outlying stone is aligned of the winter quarter days (early Nov & early Feb), so a good time of year to visit, but hard to get a Blip in that direction as it was obviously straight into the setting sun!
Maybe we won't leave it quite so long before our next visit :-)
