North Berwick
We've been back in Edinburgh (after spending the summer in our St Ives home) for two weeks now and I've had loads of lovely long walks. The good thing about Edinburgh, is that we can walk for miles & miles, and then when we get tired we can just jump on a bus and come home. Ann hardly ever uses the car in the city because the bus service is so good and is usually much quicker than the car.
Today we took the car out for a little run to North Berwick. North Berwick is a lovely little seaside town, just outside of Edinburgh. It's like a Scottish version of St Ives. Two fabulous beaches, plus lots of nice shops and restaurants and a very picturesque harbour. It took us 35 mins to get there and 1hr 10 mins to get home because by mid afternoon the Edinburgh bypass was gridlocked as usual so we just crawled along.
We walked just over 5 miles in North Berwick today. It was a bit misty, but the temperatures are great for this time of year so Ann even managed to have lunch outdoors. She bought some 'salt & pepper squid' from the 'Lobster Shack' on the harbour and she didn't share. Boohoo?!
I was off my lead for pretty much all of the walk and I was doing so much running, that I kept having to have little 'flop downs' in the rock pools.
I am having such fun in Edinburgh going off on lots of different adventures and having big long walks. Ann's not really having fun. Obviously she's having fun going on adventures with me. She's suffering from lack of human interaction. It's almost like being back in lock down again.................. Absolutely mad, considering this is the capital city of Scotland?! We don't meet anyone we know on my walks, we never see any of the neighbours in fact the two other flats on our landing are unoccupied, we've seen Ann's friends, Susi & Fiona, quite a bit over the last couple of weeks, but every one else is busy, busy, busy.
We have to accept that, we are in a city after all. So much so, that Ann got fed up waiting for friends to contact her, well friends always tell her, she's the best organiser ever, but sometimes she doesn't want to organise, so she's organised our life for the next couple of weeks. 'You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink' ….......and all that
Well you know what they say................... 'Life is not a dress rehearsal'.
Now we both have activities to do for the next couple of weeks.................... Well Ann does like to plan our life. The only days, we now have free, are Tuesday 12th November & Wednesday 20th November, and she says if no one wants to go out with her, then she'll plan another little adventure just for me and her.
Obviously, I'm hoping that no one wants to go out with her. Lol!
Happy Sunday evening peeps. xxx
