Diary of an Edinburgher

Day 7 All at sea…

First day on the boat was all at sea, which was fine. Still finding our way around the facilities. We did manage a dip in the pool. There is a terrific live band poolside, playing all the hits from the 60s, as befits the audience age range. And there are very good pizzas within earshot.

One of the activities of the day was wine tasting so we went to that, and JR continued her support of Kiwi and Aussie wines. There are all sorts of things going on, including bridge groups and paddle padel tennis. There was also a meeting for ‘Friends of Bill W’ and we assumed it was a bit like ‘]i]Friends of Dorothy….’ on the last cruise, but no.

We went to a very glitzy restaurant, with beautiful service, mostly Philippino staff. A nightcap in the wee bar afterwards, where we were joined by our Shetland-connection friends. There was a live band, and they were good. But loud.

Inevitably, not many photos were taken. But in other news, my cold has progressed to a very persistent hacking cough, which kept up all night.
