Roll of honour

Keighley has added 103 names to the roll of honour for the First World War.

One of the names added is a relation of mine, Jowett Coulton. The Men of Worth , who have done all of the very thorough research, asked if there were any young people in my family that could help unveil the new Roll of honour. Hence Libby and Ryan and Liam Firth, who are a similar relation to Jowett as we are ‘took the cloth off the box’ as Libby put it!

I was incredibly proud, of Libby, of the Men of Worth, and of my self for discovering Jowett’s fete and history and making him known to the Men of Worth, and of Keighley, the town, for ensuring these sacrifices aren’t forgotten.

Jowett had lied about his age and wasn’t quite 18 when he was killed, a similar age to Ryan and Liam.

The extra shows Libby, holding the hand of Andy Wade of the Men of Worth clearly enjoying the moment.
