Belated birthday
I missed Rory’s birthday as we were in Norway and with his appendicitis there wasn’t an opportunity to celebrate before we left so we met up yesterday in Brighton to have lunch. We chose Brighton because I was originally going to be buying him a battery for his van (exciting) but the company couldn’t fit it until the spring but we just decided to carry on with Brighton. I then lined up a coffee with a head hunter who lives there who wanted to meet me so it was a productive day
R and I frequently go to Dishoom on our lunches and dinners so were pleased to find a new style Dishoom Permit, more Indian tapas and smaller menu. As always totally delicious.
Best of all I went there by the train which trundles across the South Coast between Brighton and Southampton. Joined it at Havant.
I was too full for a big dinner but we watched another Rivals, the first of Jackal and then I read about half of Booker nominated James by Perceval Everett which I am not getting on well with, mainly because I don’t really know Huckleberry Finn well and so far, the conceit doesn’t develop enough.
