Tramping Abel Tasman

Day 27
After a fab breakfast again, Mark, Mr S and myself went for a fabulous walk from Mārahau to Apple Tree and back. It was stunning, weather was great, I hadn’t walked this part of the track before. There were a lot of cheeky Weka’s, one even stole a piece of muesli bar from Mark’s hand!
It was about 3 hours and 11.5 km, on the way home we stopped at the Riwaka pub for some local craft beer. Mark cooked roast lamb, and our other friend Markus came too. We sat outside with the outdoor fireplace lit, and also played a a game of Kub (Königs spiel) our on the lawn, but it was starting to get dark, and I believe there was some cheating and the Dovedale rules led to the other team winning ;-)
