Scary or scared?

This lovely cat, exactly opposite my front window, works equally well for Halloween and Guy Fawkes. Portia was a bit surprised when she first saw it - but now ignores it.
I stayed in with P in the evening, and she stayed on my lap. I don’t let her out after dark at this time of year, because some people throw fireworks at animals. I’m not alone in wishing fireworks were kept to public displays only.
As I write this there is very grave new from the US. I simply cannot understand it:(
