For The Love Of Colour, Rochester
Today we intended to head to Whitstable but unfortunately the weather was grey and cold so we decided to save that particular trip for a sunnier day. Instead we headed for a quicker jaunt over to Rochester instead. Of course, by the time we got there the sun came out but we had the final leg of birthday shopping to do for my sister to keep us busy and so that helped us forget about the loss of a seaside trip. Luckily, we managed to find another couple of things even though the town was very quiet and quite a few of the shops were closed.
Today's main shot was taken on the High Street and I took the photograph purely because I loved the colours, particularly the vibrant red of the ribbon and the strident orange of the shop wall. The extra, "The Bald Facts Of Window Dressing", was taken just a few feet away from there.
Once we were back it was time to finish over the Bonfire Cake we were making for my sister's birthday. It features three tiers of ginger and cinnamon sponge, buttercream, treacle toffee sauce and pecan brittle. It's been quite the effort so it better taste bloody good. We'll find out tomorrow as that's when the birthday is!
