Day 22
After just a little sleep, we awoke to a beautiful morning, with a raw wind. We made coffee and fried eggs and tomatoes for breakfast. The tent was perfectly dry with the sun and wind and quick to pack away. We drove to the end of Lake Tekapo, where there was a deep ford, so we didn’t go further with the hire car. We stopped off at the church in Tekapo for pictures! Then spend a while in Twizel, looking at our old piece of land there, not so recognizable anymore.
We wanted to camp at the far end of Lake Ohau, South Temple Stream, but it was raining quite heavily there, so went back to the little DOC site on the lake, which stayed dry, we had an early night, after cooking pasta with tomato sauce.
